Day 1: Zanzibar – Tarangire National Park
Begin your safari adventure with a morning pickup from your Zanzibar hotel and transfer to Zanzibar Airport for your flight to Tarangire National Park, passing through the open plains south of Arusha. Upon arrival, embark on a full-day game drive across one of northern Tanzania’s most spectacular parks.
Tarangire National Park Wildlife
Tarangire is especially famous during the dry season (May–October), when wildlife gathers around the Tarangire River and its wetlands. The crater is home to over 25,000 animals, including elephants, buffaloes, wildebeest, zebras, elands, warthogs, and hippos. Predators are abundant, with lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard prowling the grasslands. The crater is also one of the best places in Africa to spot black rhinoceroses in the wild.
