CLIMBING KILIMANJARO

"Guided Mount Kilimanjaro Treks with Local Experts"

KILIMANJARO CLIMB TOURS

Mount Kilimanjaro is Africa’s highest mountain at 5,895 meters (19,341 feet) and the world’s highest free-standing mountain. Although all of the mountain’s routes are not for the faint of heart, with an expert guide by your side, you don’t have to be an experienced climber to reach the peak. Reaching the summit Uhuru Peak is one of the most rewarding adventures on Earth.

While climbing Kilimanjaro is physically demanding, it does not require technical mountaineering skills. With expert guides, proper acclimatisation, and the right support team, determined trekkers of many experience levels can achieve this incredible goal.

At Mellivora African Travels, we provide professional guides, quality equipment, and full logistical support to ensure your climb is safe, well-organized, and unforgettable. Our experienced local team is dedicated to helping you succeed every step of the way.

  • Quiet and remote

  • Ideal for those wanting maximum comfort and time

2. Lemosho Route

  • Excellent acclimatisation profile

  • High success rate

  • One of the most recommended routes

3. Shira Route

  • Similar to Lemosho but starts at higher altitude

  • Beautiful landscapes

  • Slightly more challenging acclimatisation

4. Machame Route (“Whiskey Route”)

  • Challenging but very rewarding

  • Great balance of adventure and success rate

5. Rongai Route

  • Drier climate and quieter trails

  • Good for rainy season climbs

6. Marangu Route (“Coca-Cola Route”)

  • Only route with hut accommodation

  • Lower success rate due to faster ascent

7. Umbwe Route

  • Best for experienced trekkers

  • Fast ascent with limited acclimatisation time

Which Is the Best Route to Climb Kilimanjaro?

The best route depends on your goals, fitness level, and experience. However:

Best overall success rate: Northern Circuit
Best scenery & balance: Lemosho
