Pickup and Departure

Your 4-day Tanzania safari and Kilimanjaro foothills tour begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Arusha or upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport. After a short briefing, you will meet your professional safari guide. Then, depart for Tarangire National Park, enjoying a scenic drive of about two to two and a half hours through Maasai plains and rural villages.

Game Drive in Tarangire National Park

Upon arrival, enter Tarangire National Park and begin your game drive. The park is well known for its large elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and the life-giving Tarangire River. As a result, wildlife gathers here throughout the year. During the drive, you may spot elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, and a wide variety of bird species.

Picnic Lunch in the Park

Around midday, enjoy a packed picnic lunch at a designated site inside the park. While you relax, take in the beautiful scenery and watch wildlife nearby.

Afternoon Game Drive and Lodge Transfer

After lunch, continue your afternoon game drive, exploring more of the park’s diverse landscapes. Later in the afternoon, exit the park and drive to your lodge near Lake Manyara. Finally, relax, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the next day of your adventure.

Scenic Drive to Ngorongoro

After an early breakfast at your lodge, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Drive through lush highlands, rolling hills, and coffee plantations in Karatu. Along the way, enjoy scenic views and spot wildlife grazing in the plains.

Crater Rim Panoramas

Upon reaching the Ngorongoro Crater rim, pause to admire breathtaking panoramic views of the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Take photos of the stunning landscape before descending 600 meters into the crater floor.

Game Drive in the Crater

The Ngorongoro Crater hosts one of Africa’s highest concentrations of wildlife, making it possible to see the Big Five in a single day. During your game drive, you may spot lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, flamingos, hyenas, and the rare black rhinoceros.

Picnic Lunch Amidst Wildlife

Enjoy a hot picnic lunch at a scenic site near a hippo pool. Relax and watch wildlife in close proximity, surrounded by the crater’s unique environment.

Afternoon Game Drive and Return

After lunch, continue your afternoon game drive through the crater’s varied landscapes, including open grasslands, swamps, and forested areas. In the late afternoon, ascend back to the rim and drive toward Karatu or the Lake Manyara area for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, check out from your lodge and drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a compact yet incredibly diverse park at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Along the way, enjoy scenic views of farmland, rolling hills, and rural villages.

Morning Game Drive

Begin your morning game drive, exploring the park’s lush groundwater forests, open savannahs, and alkaline lake. Keep an eye out for tree-climbing lions, elephants moving through the forest, troops of baboons, giraffes, and hippos. Birdwatchers will enjoy spotting flamingos and a variety of other water and forest birds along the lake shore.

Picnic Lunch Amidst Nature

A picnic lunch will be served at a designated site inside the park. Take the opportunity to relax while enjoying the stunning surroundings and observing wildlife in their natural habitat.

Afternoon Safari and Return to Arusha

After lunch, continue your afternoon game drive, exploring different habitats before exiting the park. Drive back to Arusha town in the late afternoon. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and unwind, preparing for the Kilimanjaro hiking adventure the following day.
