Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival in Nyerere National Park & Rufiji River Boat Safari

Your adventure begins with an early morning departure from Dar es Salaam, followed by a scenic bush flight to Mtemere Airstrip. Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your lodge for check-in and a brief orientation.

In the afternoon, experience one of the park’s most iconic activities a guided boat safari along the mighty Rufiji River. This peaceful yet thrilling excursion brings you up close to hippos, crocodiles, and a wide variety of birds. Along the riverbanks, elephants, buffalo, and other wildlife often gather to drink, creating incredible wildlife viewing opportunities.

The late afternoon golden light adds a magical touch, making it a perfect time for photography and wildlife spotting.

Day 2 - Full-Day Game Drive in the Wild Heart of Nyerere

After breakfast, embark on a full-day game drive in a specially designed 4×4 safari vehicle with a pop-up roof perfect for panoramic wildlife viewing. Accompanied by your expert driver-guide, you will explore one of Africa’s largest protected wilderness areas, a landscape even bigger than Switzerland.

Throughout the day, expect exceptional wildlife sightings, including large herds of elephants, prides of lions, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and a variety of antelope species such as eland, bushbuck, greater kudu, and the rare sable antelope.
