Overview
2-Day Lake Eyasi Cultural Safari Experience
This 2-day cultural safari to Lake Eyasi offers a unique opportunity to experience the traditions of the Hadza tribe, one of Africa’s last remaining hunter-gatherer communities. First, you will witness their traditional hunting, foraging, and honey-gathering techniques. In addition, you will engage in authentic cultural exchanges that offer deep insight into their daily way of life.
Lake Eyasi is a seasonal salt lake located in the Great Rift Valley, south of Serengeti National Park and southwest of the Ngorongoro Crater. During the dry season, the lake often dries up, allowing Hadza foragers and Datoga herders to move across it on foot. Moreover, in wetter periods, the area may attract hippos and migrating flamingos, creating excellent wildlife viewing and photography opportunities.
Overall, this safari is ideal for travellers seeking cultural immersion and off-the-beaten-path experiences in Tanzania. Therefore, it perfectly combines scenic landscapes, wildlife, and authentic indigenous traditions.
